Meet Dr. Piccione

Dr. Michael “Mike” Piccione is an oral and maxillofacial surgeon who combines advanced surgical training with a calm, compassionate approach to care. Known for his warm demeanor and thoughtful communication style, Dr. Piccione takes the time to listen, explain, and ensure every patient feels comfortable and confident before moving forward.

Born and raised in New York, Dr. Piccione earned his undergraduate degree in Molecular Biology and Biochemistryfrom Purchase College, SUNY before completing his dental degree at the NYU College of Dentistry. He graduated through the Army Health Professions Scholarship Program in 2002 and went on to complete his four-year oral and maxillofacial surgery residency at Fort Bragg, North Carolina.

As a U.S. Army veteran, Dr. Piccione served as a General Dentist in Germany and was deployed on a humanitarian mission to Kosovo. He later served as the sole oral surgeon at the United States Military Academy at West Point, caring for cadets and staff, and as an oral and maxillofacial surgeon at Winn Army Community Hospital at Fort Stewart, Georgia.

These experiences shaped both his clinical expertise and his deep commitment to service, integrity, and patient-centered care.

Dr. Piccione leads Richmond Hill Oral Surgery & Facial Aesthetics, a family-owned, mom-and-pop practice where patients are treated like people — not numbers. His goal is to create an environment that feels calm, welcoming, and supportive, especially for patients who feel anxious about dental care.

Beyond the Office

When he’s not caring for patients, Dr. Piccione enjoys spending time with his wife, Kristin, and their three sons. Outside the office, he’s an avid aviation enthusiast who loves flying single-engine planes, and a passionate astrophotographerwho can often be found capturing deep-space images through his backyard observatory.

Whether he’s in the cockpit, behind a telescope, or in the operating room, Dr. Piccione is driven by curiosity, precision, and a lifelong love of learning — the same qualities that shape the thoughtful, detail-oriented care he provides to every patient.
